LAKE JACKSON, TX – September 25, 2013 – Polk Mechanical Company, was proud recipient of the ABC Diamond Safety Training and Evaluation process (S.T.E.P.) Award for their outstanding safe performance during calendar year 2013. The Diamond S.T.E.P. award is the highest of 5 S.T.E.P. categories (other categories include bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond).

This award recognizes Polk’s:
• exceptional safety record
• rigorous safety training and education programs
• excellence in the 20 components of ABC’s Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP)
• and maintaining a recordable incident rate at least 50% below their NAICS code industry average in each of the past three years

Additionally, this award enables Polk to be eligible to compete for the National Safety Excellence “PINNACLE” Award, where they will compete against contractors across the country for the most coveted safety award in the industry.
