Ken Polk
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Polk is
Chairman of the Board of Polk Mechanical Company, LLC, a provider of facility
lifecycle services with a full line of mechanical, industrial, and facility services with
revenues exceeding $55 million. Mr. Polk can definitely claim the status of
industry veteran with a career beginning in the early 1970’s. Polk Mechanical
organized in January 2003 and headquartered in Grand Prairie,Texas. They serve the
Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and also have sizeable commercial and industrial
operations in the Houston/Bay Area.
With 35 years of experience in the mechanical contracting industry, Mr. Polk has a wealth
of knowledge in every aspect of the business. Together with the members of his leadership team,
who average more than 26 years each in the industry, Ken is committed to the highest quality
installations, outstanding safety, exemplary customer service, and opportunities for
Polk Mechanical’s more than 300 employees.
During the first decade of his commercial building career, Mr. Polk was promoted through the ranks
and in 1979 was named vice president and operations manager for Continental Mechanical, a
leading Dallas mechanical contractor. He was responsible for the successful completion of several
major downtown Dallas high-rise office buildings, healthcare projects, hotels, manufacturing facilities,
and corporate headquarters.
In 1985, Mr. Polk moved to Natkin & Company, one of the largest mechanical contractors in the
United States, where he soon was elevated to vice president of business development, focusing on
design-build projects nationwide. In 1994, Mr. Polk joined Ivey Mechanical, later Encompass
Mechanical Services-Southeast Region. After serving as chief operating officer and overseeing the
consolidation of 19 companies in the southeastern U.S., Mr. Polk returned to Dallas and
subsequently purchased the mechanical operations of Encompass Texas to create Polk Mechanical
Company.
Mr. Polk serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Construction Education Foundation (CEF) and on the board of directors for Associated Builders & Contractors, North Texas(ABC).
